Painting pictures with words. I’ve made a career in reaching people through their ears. In a hyper-visual world of Tik-Tok, Instagram, and You Tube, this may not seem like much. But I think, to do it well, is a tremendous skill to have.

I am Joe McArdle.  

My career has been almost exclusively based in the Chicago area. 

In the last 30+ years, I have worked at more than a dozen Chicago radio stations as well as producing and voicing national and regional commercials in the US and Canada. ESPN 1000 is my current radio home as part of Good Karma Brands. I have also been a creative producer for WXRT, WGN, WBBM-AM, WSCR, WCPT, WMAQ, WCBR, Nine FM, WNUA, and more. I have held many titles in my years in radio: Program Director, Creative Director, Operations Manager, Producer, Board Op, Satellite Operator and Farmer.

I love designing sound and mixing audio, but I consider myself to be a writer first and foremost. I love the challenge of being able to tell a story in 30 seconds. I do not feel the same about 10 second ads, but we do what we must.
